Positivity bounds without boosts: New constraints on low energy effective field theories from the UV

چکیده
We derive new positivity bounds for low-energy effective field theories (EFTs) that are not invariant under Lorentz boosts. ``Positivity bounds'' the manifestation of certain fundamental properties in UV---to date, they have been used to constrain a wide variety EFTs; however, since existing require invariance directly applicable when this symmetry is broken, such as most cosmological and condensed matter systems. Assuming degrees freedom can be extended into UV way consistent with axioms unitarity, analyticity, locality, we an infinite family (derivatives of) $2\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2$ EFT scattering amplitude must satisfy even boosts broken. apply these leading-order both superfluid scalar fluctuations produced during inflation, comparing latter case current observational constraints on primordial non-Gaussianity, demonstrating open window high-energy physics lies beneath our measurements.

Effective theories and constraints on new physics
Anomalous moments of the top quark arises from one loop corrections to the vertices t̄tg and t̄tγ . We study these anomalous couplings in different frameworks: effective theories, Standard Model and 2HDM. We use available experimental results in order to get bounds on these anomalous couplings.

The heavy quark effective field theory (HQET) is the effective field theory of QCD suitable for describing heavy-light mesons [1]. The heavyquark four momentum can be split into a large and a small component: p = mv + k, where m is the heavy quark mass, v a unit vector and k a residual momentum of the order of ΛQCD. The large and small component fields ψ v are defined in terms of the heavy-quar...
متن کاملEnergy flux positivity and unitarity in conformal field theories.
We show that in most conformal field theories the condition of the energy flux positivity, proposed by Hofman and Maldacena, is equivalent to the absence of ghosts. At finite temperature and large energy and momenta, the two-point functions of the stress energy tensor develop lightlike poles. The residues of the poles can be computed, as long as the only spin-two conserved current, which appear...
متن کاملElectroweak Constraints on Effective Theories
We discuss electroweak constraints on TeV scale extensions of the standard model. To obtain model-independent results, effective theory approach is adopted. Constraints are given on arbitrary linear combinations of a set of dimension-6 operators that respect the SM gauge symmetry, as well as CP, lepton and baryon number conservation. Applications of the results are also discussed.
متن کاملPositivity Constraints on Anomalies in Supersymmetric Gauge Theories
The relation between the trace and R-current anomalies in supersymmetric theories implies that the U(1)RF 2, U(1)R and U(1) 3 R anomalies which are matched in studies of N = 1 Seiberg duality satisfy positivity constraints. Some constraints are rigorous and others conjectured as four-dimensional generalizations of the Zamolodchikov c-theorem. These constraints are tested in a large number of N ...
